Witch Blood was a great bit of escapism for a couple hours I forgot about the annoyances of my life and just got lost in Isabelle’s world. Thwarted by Thomas the leader of the witches’s coven catches her in the act of trying to separating a warlock’s life from his body. The very same one who summoned the demon that killed her sister. Isabella is pissed but forms an alliance with Thomas, her boss essentially. That said I was surprised the tone of some of the scenes between the two skirting the edge of eroticism. I talk a good game but i’m a prude at heart. So some of the heat between the lead characters made me blush at times (thumbs up ). As much as Isabelle fights it the stronger her attraction is to Thomas.Reading their banter was entertaining as much their mating dance around each other it bought a smile to my face. I felt for Isabella I have a sibling and if anything happened to him I would want revenge too. The plot was compelling for the most part the pacing dipped a few points in the story. Not enough to hurt it too much when I was finished I wanted more, I really didn’t want to let go these set of characters yet especially Stefan. I wished there was another book featuring these characters (I would read it). I loved the love triangle between Isabella, Stefan, and Thomas just between me and you I was routing for Stefan. Don’t get me wrong Thomas has his good points but as leader he has to be a good example which gets boring but alas earth and water are drawn to each nature’s law. I like that writer tries to humanize the demon just a guy who wants to go home but just has to this horrible thing to get enough power to do so. You kinda feel bad when get a glimpse of his back story but the act is so horrendous it prevents you from truly sympathizing with him.Nasty bits what turned me off was the difference of power between the witches and demons. Compared to the demons the witches were essentially human come on!! I get it you have to make it a challenge but that was ridiculous. To add insult to injury the demon has a thing for Isabella WHAT THE FRONT DOOR! This interest by the way doesn’t stop him from still wanting to kill her, he killed her sister that’s just creepy. The sex was a bit excessive but maybe that’s just me. All in all Witch Blood is exactly what I said at the beginning a bit of escapism if you take it too seriously you will find fault everywhere, which is very easy to do. So I didn’t I just sat back with no expectations and read. After I was done I really liked it enough to give it a 4 out of 5. I would recommend this book for the 18 plus crowd for the amount of sex and play by play descriptions of the act younger eyes need not apply. Love trashy romance novels of the heaving breasts variety this is a step up and you’ll love it.http://sonythebooklover.com/2012/05/witch-blood-review/#more-4309
