Usually I have to be in the right mood to read a book on romance. Every now and again I’ll come across one that will grab my attention. Such was the case with Ditched as you know I love pretty book covers, and Ditched cover was colorful and eye catching. Read the back I proceeded to do an eye roll and put it back right where I found it. But I signed up for DAC again this year and decided I should at least read the the first paragraph before I passed judgment . So I did and to my surprise I kept on reading even a smile tugged at my lips.Ditched will not change your life but its funny Justina’s narration of the night she can’t piece together is engaging and hilarious in a tongue and cheek way. We’re pulled into her story from the beginning. You just have to know what happened. How did she end up in a ditch at the side of the road in the wee hours of the morning, with a stained dress as her only road map to a night that all a blur? Why did Ian ditch her ? Do they end up together? I found myself caring about the answers to theses questions. I love the format at the beginning of each chapter a stain on the dress is highlighted I thought that was cute and a original concept. A lite read I throughly enjoyed. The are negative aspects to this story Justinas ability to make assumptions and her reaction to those assumptions. Yes there are a few eye rolling moments and what what she thinking thrown in for good measure. And if you’re an adult with high schools days in your rear view mirror you may not relate to some of the teenager-y angst. I could tell the writer is a fan of eighties movies, the set up of this book reminded me of a Pretty in Pink with a douse of the Hangover thrown in. If you want a funny light hearted read I recommend this book. For Romance, Chick-lit fans will love this story I gave “Ditched” a four out five. Comment below let me know if Ditched was a dud or a thumbs up for you.
